ENG 381 - Topics: Professional Writing (1)

This course will explore the communication needs and processes of writers in professional settings. We will discuss the ways professional documents are made and used, with real-world experience as our class works with a real-world client to produce documentation. To accomplish those large-issue objectives, this class also seeks to shape individual writing skills through a rhetorical approach to grammar instruction, understanding the parts of speech, but also the choices writers have at the sentence level, and the effects those choices have on the document’s users. Prerequisite: First Year Writing Course (FYW), or ENG 201, ENG 215, or ENG 225.
