INT 330 - Intermediate Methods of Reading and Language Arts (1)This course provides in-depth exploration and practice in teaching reading and language arts at the intermediate level, grounded in the science of reading. Building upon foundational knowledge, students will develop advanced strategies for fostering literacy development in diverse classrooms. There is particular emphasis upon evidence-based practices derived from the science of reading, focusing on comprehension instruction, vocabulary development, writing integration and the use of assessment. Through a combination of theoretical study, hands-on activities and classroom simulations, students will gain the skills necessary to design and implement effective reading and language arts instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Prerequisites: EDU 205 , EDU 215 , EDU 230 , and EDU 240
