EDU 240 - Education and Culture (1)

This course examines American core culture and the essential role that public education plays in that culture. Specifically, it explores the socio-civic mandate which requires schools to prepare students for participation in a democratic society; in doing so, students are encouraged to understand and be sensitive to the values, beliefs, lifestyles and attitudes of individuals and diverse groups found in a pluralistic society. Not open to juniors and seniors without the permission of instructor. No alternate grade option.
