SOC 384 - Research Design and Data Analysis (1)

Course explores the principles and methods of sociological research, including developing research questions, forming measurable concepts, determining appropriate research strategies, confronting ethical dilemmas, collecting and analyzing data, and revising theories in light of empirical data. In addition to exploring various sociological research methods, students develop an independent research project. Prerequisites: two courses in Sociology, including SOC 101  or SOC 102. Must enroll in SOC 500  for the semester in which this block is taken. Recommended in the sophomore or junior year. This course is pre-approved for transcript notation in the Ingenuity in Action category, Research. To participate and earn notation of completion on your transcript, please complete the Ingenuity in Action application. No alternate grade option.
