EGR 285 - Experimental Engineering (1)

Students will be introduced to methods in experimental engineering. Students will learn to determine data that are appropriate to collect, design experimental procedures, and carry out appropriate measurements. Students will analyze experimental data using appropriate mathematical methods and evaluate experimental data in light of relevant theory.  Topics include probability distributions, measures of central tendencies and dispersions, linear regression, calibration, and measurement uncertainty. Emphasis is placed on conducting experiments and reporting and presenting results to technical audiences. Prerequisites: EGR 231  and EGR 271
