BIO 384 - Topics: Cellular Basis of Disease (1)Our cells are finely tuned throughout our lives to promote proper development, organ function, and tissue maintenance as we grow and age. However, disruption of normal cellular activities is a central cause of disease progression. This course will explore our current understanding of the cellular and molecular processes that lead to the most prevalent diseases in the US. Students will learn about normal and pathological cell behaviors and get hands-on experience with the strategies and models scientists use to uncover the cellular secrets underlying human disease. Prerequisite: BIO 205 (Science)
