ANT 383 - Anthropological Theory (1)

A systematic introduction to anthropological theory, focusing the ideas that contributed to the development of the discipline; the key shifts in theoretical perspective; and contemporary debates on the ideas of culture, identity, agency, globalization and ethnographic authority. Prerequisite(s): Twop courses in ANT, including ANT 101  or ANT 102 . Recommended in the junior or senior year. Same course as ANT 483. Alternate years. No alternate grade option.
