MUS 321 - History of Western Music I (1)

Chronological development of Western music from Antiquity through the late Renaissance. Emphasis on historical, cultural, aesthetic, and structural examination of musical works; and the development of genres, forms, and performance practices. Prerequisites: writing-designated course (W) and the ability to read music. Offered in alternate years. MUS 321, MUS 322, and MUS 323 may be taken in any order. No alternate grade option.
