French Minor

Requirements

A minimum of five course credits from the FRE program which must include:

• FRE 301 - Composition and Conversation (1)
• FRE 303 - Cultures of France and Francophone World (1) OR FRE 302 Francophone Culture Abroad (Advanced)  
• FRE 311 - Introduction to Literature in French (1) OR FRE 312 - Introduction to French and Francophone Film (1)  
• Two additional electives in French above the 205 level, with the following possible exceptions: The two electives may include a maximum of one upper-level (200 or above) course taken from another program/department, approved beforehand by the French program as relevant to the minor.  Similarly, one 200- or 300-level course offered by the French program but taught in English may count as an elective if approved beforehand by the French program.  Either way, a total of no more than one of these two electives may be a course taught in a language other than French.
