Statistics is the art and science of data. This major helps students learn to approach problems and research in the sciences, social sciences, business, and other fields with critical thinking using statistical techniques. Not only does the major build skills for manipulating, visualizing, and understanding data, but attention is also paid to communication, both with the client during the analysis process, and communicating the results once the analysis is concluded. The statistical modeling process including evaluation, interpretation, and implementation will be rigorously practiced and utilized by students in both classwork and their own independent research projects.
