K-12 Certification

Students who seek licensure to teach art, music, or physical education will be recommended for certification in grades K-12 after completing the following courses in addition to the respective major requirements:

Requirements

• Major in Music Education (MUE)
• EDU 328 - Content Area Reading, Instructional Strategies and Management Theory for Secondary Teachers (1)
• EDU 410 - Student Teaching I (1)
• EDU 420 - Student Teaching II (1)
• EDU 430 - Student Teaching III (1) (Student Teaching placement is split between elementary and secondary classrooms)
• EDU 483 - Senior Seminar (1)
