ART 273 - Topics: Arts of Latin America and the Caribbean (1)

This course explores the art and architecture of Latin America and the Caribbean from the late 15th century to the early 18th century. Beginning with visual materials that predate contact with Europeans, students will investigate how colonization and empire profoundly altered artistic production in these regions. Particular attention will be given to artists of Indigenous and multiethnic descent. [AH]
