STA 240 - Biostatistics (1)

This course introduces students to statistical methods commonly encountered when doing research in health related disciplines.  Specific issues to tackle include what to do when some subjects drop out of a study before the study is concluded, how to compare rates of disease among different types of populations, and how to handle categorical data.  Statistical methods covered in the course may include rates and standardization, life tables, nonparametric methods, categorical methods, and survival analysis. Prerequisite: STA 201   Alternate years.
