KIN 270 - Measurement and Evaluation in Physical Activity and Sports (1)This course is an introduction to methods of measurement and evaluation in health, physical activity, and sports. Various assessment tools and protocols in psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains will be introduced. Basic statistics, use of a computer for data organization and analysis, and adaptation of various tools and protocols for individuals with disabilities are presented. Emphasis is placed on connecting theory and practice in assessing health-related physical fitness (aerobic capacity, musculoskeletal strength and endurance, flexibility, and body composition), psychomotor skills (agility, balance, coordination, power, speed, and reaction time), chosen sport-specific skills, and knowledge tests. Clinical experiences will include data collection, statistical analysis, and use of obtained results to develop individual and program goals. Not open to first years.
