FRE 310 - French for Professional Life (1)Designed for students who have at least intermediate knowledge of French (e.g. who have completed FRE 305/306/307 or its equivalent), this course will focus on practical applications of French in a range of professional contexts. Students will acquire essential vocabulary, polish their communication skills and learn more about the cultural contexts and conventions that characterize French-speaking workplaces.
In this course, students will research the career field of their choice, assemble a professional portfolio and participate in a mock interview. Additional coursework includes skills building exercises, research on work-related topics in the French speaking world, in-class quizzes and collaborative group work.
This course will be taught exclusively in French and will count both as an elective for the French major and minor and as a course in the required category of the International Relations major pertaining to “how others see their participation in the international community.” Prerequisite(s): FRE 305 , FRE 306 , or FRE 307
