REL 265 - Topics: Advanced Biblical Hebrew (1)

The second of a two course sequence, completion of which fulfills the language requirement, this course provides an introduction to classical Biblical Hebrew, with an emphasis on semantic proficiency, sensitivity to the literary expression of the Bible through the use of lexicons, grammars and commentaries. The course will provide the student with advanced skills to read exemplary selections in the original language from the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament), and familiarity with the various genres of Biblical literature.
