REL 128 - Topics: Introduction to Hebrew Bible (1)

The first of a two course sequence in fulfillment of the language requirement, this course provides an introduction to classical Biblical Hebrew, with an emphasis on semantic proficiency, sensitivity to the literary expression of the Bible through the use of lexicons, grammars and commentaries. The course will provide the student with skills to read exemplary selections in the original language from the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament), and familiarity with the various genres of Biblical literature.
