POL 200 - Election 2024: Youth Political Organizing (SYS) (1)In 2024, an estimated 41 million members of Gen Z will be eligible to vote in their local, state, and national elections. Of those, 8 million are newly eligible voters since the 2022 midterms. However, campaigns often struggle to reach the youngest voters, who tend to vote at lower rates. In this course, we focus on the political power of youth organizing and activism, and use those lessons to mobilize voters on our own campus. In this course, you will interact with political campaigns, advocacy organizations, political candidates, and political activists, as well as developing and implementing an evidence based organizational strategy for getting out the vote on campus. Only open to sophomores. (Sophomore Year Seminar ((SYS)) (Social Science)
