FRE 266 - Topics: French for Community Engagement (1)

This course will focus on practical applications of French for service work in non-profit aid organizations with a particular focus on engagement with displaced and resettled populations. Students will acquire practical vocabulary, communication skills and cultural knowledge through contextualized activities and discussions that will prepare them to interact directly with French-speaking populations in Iowa, the US and abroad. In addition, students will research development-related topics in the French speaking world as well as service and employment opportunities.

This course will be taught exclusively in French and will count as an elective for the French major and minor. Prerequisite: FRE 205
