GEO 327 - Sedimentary Geochemistry (1)

An in-depth exploration of the chemistry of sediments, with a focus on paleoenvironmental and paleoclimatic applications.  Topics include influences on the composition of seawater, the characteristics of different types of sediments, sedimentary diagenesis, the evaluation of time in paleoclimate records, and an examination of common isotopic, organic, and elemental proxies for paleoenvironmental change. Prerequisite: GEO 224  or CHE 121  or instructor approval
