BIO 336 - Bioinformatics for Ecology and Evolution (1)The accumulation of large amounts of data in ecological and evolutionary studies means that researchers increasingly need to use computational tools to organize, analyze, and interpret their data. This is especially true of genetic sequence data, which is becoming more important in all kinds of biology. This course will provide foundational skills and concepts regarding DNA sequence data and computation, then apply these skills to common tasks such as searching sequence databases, assessing homology, and inferring evolutionary history. Prerequisites: BIO 141 , BIO 142 , BIO 210 , BIO 322 (Science)
