DSC 502 - Capstone Preparation (1/4)

Guidance through the process of choosing a topic for the Senior Capstone Project in Data Science, and writing a proposal for the project that is acceptable to the faculty on the Data Science committee. Common readings in current literature in mathematics, statistics, data science, and/or computer science may also be assigned. This adjunct course must be taken over Terms 1-4. Students will meet with the instructor for approximately 2.5 hours per block. Students will have brief meetings with course instructors and will also work individually on proposals. The total time commitment will not exceed 10 hours per block. Prerequisite: Permission of department.
