HIS 354 - U.S. Social History Since 1940 (1)

World War II brought about a number of social revolutions that would dramatically transform the nature of American society and national identity during the second half of the Twentieth Century. We will examine in-depth the movements for social justice that emerged in the post-war decades, including the Women’s movement, the Civil Rights Movement, and the Anti-War and Student Movements for Democracy. We will explore the “hidden history” of these movements and their continuing impact on contemporary issues.
